ICSE Programme

The ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) Programme is offered by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. At Aurobana Indian School,, the ICSE syllabus is delivered to lead the students in a progressive and phased manner, enabling them to be well-prepared and future-ready. Application of knowledge and the development of analytical skills form an integral part of the programme that aims to develop students as responsible citizens who make positive contributions to the society.

The ICSE students benefit from developing a deep knowledge of the core subjects along with critical thinking and communication skills. They participate in Dance, Drama, Fine Arts, Western Music and Indian Music,Yoga, AFS-Exchange programs, Skillful and exceptional sports and other activities,thus developing leadership skills and team spirit.

They have rich and meaningful interactions with international students during their participation in several exchange programmes, Aurobana Indian School also takes pride in hosting students from foreign countries as part of the exchange programmes,thus imbibing the attributes of global citizenship. Community Service is an integral part of learning, with students actively involved in various service projects under the Uniform Services.

Class VIII serves as a preparatory year for the ICSE Programme in Classes IX and X. Students study English as the First Language, French ,Hindi ,Tamil as the Second Language, and Mathematics, History, Civics and Geography, Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology), and Computer Studies as core subjects.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations was established by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate in 1958, with a view to adapting the latter's curriculum and examination systems to cater to the educational needs of the local context.

The Curriculum for the ICSE Programme at Aurobana Indian School
The ICSE is a comprehensive course of study available to students at Aurobana Indian School in Class IX . The ICSE Class VIII serves as a preparatory year designed to meaningfully progress to the courses of study in ICSE Classes IX and X.
